Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) wants to hear from you! DPW is asking visitors to the Department’s website to respond to a brief online survey designed to gather information about the website and identify opportunities for improvements.

“DPW is in the process of rebuilding our online presence and a critical part of this process is gathering feedback on how the current website is working,” said Director Jason Mitchell. “DPW’s website plays an important role in serving the residents of Baltimore City as well as the water customers that the Department serves throughout the region.”

Visitors to the DPW website will be asked to participate in a brief, 10-question survey. The random survey will pop up in the bottom right-hand corner of the DPW website and will appear on all pages of the website.

DPW will use survey responses to help establish objectives and goals as the Department works to redevelop the website into a more service-focused, user-friendly site.

Late yesterday afternoon, we lost a dedicated crew member of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works’ Bureau of Solid Waste. Our hearts are first and foremost with him, his family and loved ones, and his DPW colleagues as we grapple with this loss. Late in the afternoon nearing the conclusion of their workday, in the Barclay neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore, Ronald Silver II experienced a medical situation that required immediate assistance while he and his fellow crew members were riding in their truck. Emergency Medical Services were called, dispatched, and Mr. Silver was transported to the hospital, where he passed away.

Today, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is announcing that its 2023 Water Quality Report is available online. This annual report provides Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County residents with important information about where the City’s drinking water comes from, what chemicals it contains, and how it meets federal standards for tap water. In this report, DPW highlights our employees who monitor and treat the water from the City’s reservoirs, Loch Raven, Liberty, and Prettyboy, and take steps to safeguard the water throughout the distribution process.

DPW Offices, Sanitation Yards Closed on Independence Day , Thursday, July 4

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that Independence Day will be observed on Thursday, July 4, 2024. As a City-observed holiday, DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED. The Independence Day closure WILL impact weekly trash and recycling collections. Trash and recycling makeup day is Saturday, July 6, 2024. There will be NO street sweeping during the Independence Day closure.
